Flax (Linum usitatissimum) is one of the oldest cultivated plants, already known in ancient Egypt and ancient Greece. It is versatile because it can be used for linen, clothing, linseed oil and linseed.
Flaxseed is an excellent source of many valuable nutrients, boasting particularlyhigh fibre and protein content.
How to use organic brown flaxseeds:
- raw or roasted,
- crushed (so the body can better utilize the nutritional value of the seeds),
- in many recipes (e.g. for baking bread with seeds),
- as a topping for salads,
- as a nutritious addition to yoghurt, smoothies...
Lean seeds enrich the taste of dishes and add colour to them.
Use
Recommended Use:Brown flaxseed can be used raw or roasted. Either way, they can be used in many recipes and sprinkled on top of a variety of dishes not only for flavor but also for color. They are an excellent addition to salads and desserts.
If roasting, place them directly in the pan and heat over medium-low heat for 2-3 minutes to allow the cloves and some of the seeds to crackle or pop out of the pan. In the meantime, stir them from time to time.
