BIO Amalaki powder - a versatile ayurvedic plant.

Amalaki(Emblica Officinalis) is a gooseberry-shaped small evergreen fruit with green skin and an interesting sweet and sour taste.

As the name suggests, it originates from India, where it is an important part of the Ayurvedic tradition. Amalaki is used in Ayurveda in a variety of forms, from juice, powder, tincture to nutritional supplements, and is also popular in hair and skin care.

One of the reasons for its popularity and prevalence is its composition - it also contains various nutrients, including the minerals calcium, potassium and iron.

In Ayurveda, it is one of the three components of the Triphala mixture.

Amalaki thus constitutes one of the three main ingredients of the traditional Ayurvedic Triphala blend, which also includes haritaki (Terminalia chebula) and bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica).

In Ayurveda, amalaki is used to balance all three doshas**:

• vata- associated with movement and digestion,
• pitta - associated with fire and metabolism,
• kapha - related to weight and the movement of substances through the body.

**The doshas are Ayurvedic principles that have no equivalent in modern science.

Amalaki can be added to food or used for skin and hair care.

Use

Recommended Dosage: ½-1 teaspoon. Mix in water, tea, juice or smoothie and drink preferably with food. You can also mix it into yogurt or cereal.

Tip for Use - Hair Mask:Mix 1-2 tablespoons of amalaki with warm water. Leave for 15 minutes, then apply to damp hair and scalp. Leave on for about 30 minutes, then wash off with water and shampoo
