Berberis aristata or Indian barberry, also known by its English name Indian holly, is an evergreen shrub with thorns. It belongs to the holly group, which includes more than 500 different species of deciduous evergreen shrubs.

Indian holly is native to India and Nepal in the Himalayas and also occurs naturally in the wetter parts of Sri Lanka.
