DMSO or dimethylsulfoxide is an organic sulfur compound with the chemical formula C2H6OS. It is produced as a by-product in the wood industry and has been used for many years as a general-purpose multipurpose solvent.

It occurs in liquid and solid (crystalline) states, with the freezing point depending on its purity. DMSO with a purity of 99.9% has a higher freezing point (around 18 °C), so it transitions from a liquid to a solid state even at or just below room temperature.

DMSO in the liquid state is absorbed extremely rapidly. This is also due to the fact that it dilutes in air.

99.9% of FutuNatura brand DMSO is in colourless liquid form, but solidifies into crystals at temperatures below 18.3°C. It is used as a raw material for a variety of purposes.
